Story of painting as appears on card "MATES' : Two Aboriginal women worked for me at our museum/gallery and one day they argued so much that I painted a large bright red painting of two women walking down the beach, then I painted
another and called it "Pals", I let them choose a painting and they were happy and seemed to work out all their problems. After they took their paintings home everyone loved them so much, I decided to do a series on this topic."Mate" is
the third in this series. I hope this story inspires Aboriginal people to stick together and solve their problems peacefully and to keep our culture strong and always remember our Aboriginal heritage.
